Verse Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

Verse (on the App Store as Chapter & Verse: Bible Search) finds a Bible verse you only half remember. It does that entirely on your iPhone. This page says what it keeps, where, and who else sees it: nobody.

Verse collects nothing. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing you read, search or bookmark is sent anywhere. On the App Store its privacy label says Data Not Collected.

What stays on your iPhone

Verse keeps a few things so it works the way you left it. They stay on this iPhone, and in its backup if you use one:

The widgets read your bookmarked verses with their words, the Bible you chose and that date from a folder on the same iPhone that only Verse and its widgets can open. The rest stays in Verse's own storage.

Searching

Every search, including search by meaning, runs on your iPhone. The Bible text and the small model that understands what a verse is about come with the app. What you type is never sent to a server.

Paying

Purchases are made with Apple. Verse asks Apple, on your iPhone, whether you have the free week, a monthly plan or Lifetime, and for the prices in your own money. Apple handles your payment details; Verse never sees them, nor your Apple Account. This is the only thing Verse ever says to anyone over the internet.

Manage or cancel a monthly plan in Verse's Settings, under Manage subscription, or in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.

Getting rid of it

Delete Verse from your iPhone and everything it kept on the phone goes with it. A backup made before then keeps its copy until that backup is replaced or deleted.

Children

Verse collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes to this page

If what Verse does with your information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. Anything that would send information off your iPhone will be said inside the app before it happens.
